Congratulations Dr. Daniels!! It is with heavy hearts that we inform the BCC Community of the passing of “Mr. Baltimore City College Alumni Association” – Leo Sirota BCC of 1947 and Hall of Fame member. Mr. Sirota passed on Sunday, December 11, 2016. He was “the heart and soul” of the BCCAA and literally bled “Black and Orange” so much so that the BCCAA Alumni of the Year award is named in his honor. Mr. Sirota’s legacy is interwoven in the threads of the BCCAA, Inc as we have adopted his mantra “Lead, follow or get out of the way!” in all that we do. He will be deeply missed. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 10:00 am at Sol Levison & Bros. Inc. 8900 Reisterstown Road at Mount Wilson Lane. The BCCAA Inc. would like to extend our congratulations to Mr. John Schuerholz BCC ’58 for his election into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame!! “I always had aspirations of being a successful general manager, to build winning teams, and we were able to do that and do it for a while consistently,” Schuerholz said. “But this honor almost — it puts me in a position where I seldom am, and that is to be without words to describe what this means to me. … [Being told of the selection], those words will ring in my ears and in my brain for the rest of my life. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am.” Read the full article here: The Baltimore Sun City College Alum, Calvin E.
